• Yes.... It should be compatible with any DS console that has the word "NEW" as part of its name. The variety of consoles with such similar names makes it very confusing.

• No, it is not! Someone at the store told us it was, but it will only work on a NEW Nintendo 3DS. Not even the older version of the 3Ds will play it. It says right on the box it will only work for the NEW Nintendo 3DS. We had to return ours.
