• Yes, it will make a drastic difference. Regular HDMI can not bring out the quality needed to support a 4k tv. Once you go 4k everything has to upgrade with it, in order to have a great experience.

• Yes. This cable is required to allow the extra data that 4K has to be transmitted. Without it you can't get true 4K definition.
