I have two internet services at my house, one is for home schooling. I bought a cable Modem with wireless router built in from Best Buy, because I was not going to pay $9.00 a month to rent a box. you can not use a Cable Modem on DSL service. DSL service is provided by the phone. Your DSL provider should be giving you a box, that has wireless built into it, Word to the wise: I had a problem with my router, went and bought another one. I called the phone company, they would not give me support. they told me to call Netgear. I was lucky, I router was over a year old and they sent me a new one free of charge.
