No. I recommend activating thru your My Cricket account on a desktop computer and using the new SIM card that comes with the phone, as a simple SIM swap may not provision correctly considering this phone has Next Gen WiFi calling. Enjoy!

I had the same question before I bought the phone. Best Buy told me there would not be an activation fee, and there was none. It was a very simple, instant(?) transition.
