“How does this camera rate against the Moto G4 Plus 64gb? the G4 has higher 16MP while this has 12MP? To me seems worse camera on G5.”

It depends on you. Megapixels only affects the resolution of the photos, but not the overall quality of the photo. And having more Megapixels also reduces your low-light capabilities. The wider Aperture size of the Moto G5 Plus also allows you to take better shots than the more narrow size of the camera aperture on the Moto G4 Plus. After all, the Moto G5 Plus is using the same camera sensor found within both the Galaxy S7 & S8 (although it won't take great shots like those two phone due to the mid-range phone processor). The Autofocus on the Moto G5 Plus is practically much faster than the Moto G4 Plus since it uses DualPixel focus instead of the Laser Autofocus on the G4 Plus. Finally, the Moto G5 Plus can both shoot videos on 4K in 30 fps & 1080p in 60 fps (although digital stabilization won't work with these two video settings on).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Haven't used the G4 myself, but I am a photographer and the G5 camera is quite good. Also your only looking at a difference of 4 mega pixels... Not a huge difference. Plus the camera isn't what makes good photographs, it's the person behind the lens...a good photographer can take award winning photos with a toy camera.
