• I bought the black version (16GB, model XT1607) yesterday at my local Best Buy in California. No ads. It runs near stock version of Android so there's not bloatware installed on the phone either.

• If you buy this phone here at Best Buy - there are NO ads on it. Only the Amazon co-branded version comes with ads (and you can only buy that co-branded version at Amazon directly). This phone is available right now in Best Buy stores.

• That phone offer is available at Amazon. The other sellers do not specify this option, so I would say that these phones except those from Amazon are sold without ads.
