I purchased mine unlocked. In theory, it should work with any carrier.

You will need to obtain a new, never before activated Sprint compatible UICC (SIM), install the UICC in your xt1952-4, then visit https://activate.virginmobileusa.com/#/your-device Enter your device MEID/IIMEI and your 20-digit ICCID (SIM #) into the required fields and then complete the activation steps. Once you choose a plan and add funds, you will be notified that activation is being processed. At this point, I opened my dialer and performed a carrier reset (##72786#) which prompts carrier provisioning upon reboot. Be patient and allow the provisioning to run its course. If you are within a strong signal area, you will notice the signal indicator on your device change to LTE. When all three green check marks are indicated, provisioning is complete and your device is activated. Mine took around 3 minutes to provision.
