I don't know the internal construction, but rest assured it works with both Verizon and AT&T. I have AT&T and a friend has Verizon Wireless and we bought the same phones on the same day from the same Best Buy. Also, for other carriers, check the Motorola web site for the full list of specifications. Note that antennas are designed for the frequencies they operate at and not the data format. So a single antenna of proper design would work with a number of transmission formats as long as the frequency and bandwidth requirements were met.
