• WAYYYY OVERKILL. Motorola MT7711 would be a decent choice for a "combo" device. Wireless is subject to your own surroundings and dwelling on how far the signal will go.

• Yes, this modem is way too much for 300mbp of speed. Would be like putting a Corvette on a 55-mph speed limit.

• Speed limits are for Road conditions, not cars! As for being an overkill, you need to check on other security and allied features. That would allow you to make a more rational decision
