This was on sale Black Friday 2019 for $1399 after $500 off (~25%). Timing-wise, these prices coincide with the end of model year and cleared out the inventory of my local Best Buy's. It is unlikely that you'll again see such pricing until vendors are ready to clear out remaining inventory, at which point 15-20% off is a possibility. There are currently similar MSI Stealth on sale at Best Buy if budget is of concern. They won't have the same graphics chip or memory, but they're not slouches either.
