So far so good, I have on this laptop now for a couple of weeks and I really enjoyed how sleek and Powerful it is. It is a little loud as far as the fan then I use a laptop cooling pad underneath but aside from this it is a cool looking laptop that can handle photo and video editing on a 4K level for me.

The aesthetic of this laptop is understated (in a good way) compared to many gaming laptops.
When I purchased the unit in August 2019, it was $1,899. Including the current generation Intel Core i7, 32GB of RAM, and an RTX 2060 GPU, it seemed to be one of the most well-priced ultra-thin gaming laptops that I'd come across in weeks of research.
The touchpad is nice (unless you've previously used Mac - in which case it will take some getting used to.
Came with 512GB NVMe SSD + an empty NVMe slot, so I was very happy to get my total storage up to 1.5TB.
Things to keep in mind: This is a thin laptop - to get decent fan performance, they need to be absolutely blasting, which can be a bit loud. Also - I wanted to be able to plug in and unplug the laptop from my desk with a simple Thunderbolt 3 cable - and while it does have ONE well specced TB3 x4 PCIe plug, unfortunately the power still uses an ancient DC barrel connector. Think of something like a Razer Blade, which can do absolutely everything throug its one TB3 port.
These are minor complaints. Overall, especially for the price point, I strongly recommend this product.

This is my very first gaming laptop and I must confess I’m very impressed with this laptop. The games I have played so far runs smoothly. I have also used it for video editing too. Another feature I like about this laptop is that I can customize the keyboard light to my liking. The only problem I have so far is that this laptop gets hot when I’m playing games like Gears 5. However with cooling pad I use, it keeps this laptop cool but not that cool when I play Gesrs 5. With other games like FIFA, Control, it doesn’t get that hot with cooling pad. I surmise Gears 5 is a powerful game that’s why this laptop gets hot. Other than that I’m happy.

This laptop is very fast and the IPS screen is super sharp. The case is made of metal and is very sturdy. It has an integrated graphics chip to reduce power consumption when not using the 2060. My 3d mark 9 scores were right under 4k gaming machine. It also has very little bloatware on it. The color programmable keys are amazing.

Even though there are cheaper similar respect laptops even though there are cheaper similarly spect laptops the bill quality on this MSI stealth is awesome. Having 32GB of RAM from the get-go makes wanting to upgrade this less of a necessity more of only having 32GB a ram from the get-go makes one in to upgrade this less of a necessity and more of a luxury to upgrade to the maximum of 64GB of ram that this board can handle the SSD that's included is on the slower side so I will be upgrading that will the Samsung 970 Evo 1tb. The other great thing about this laptop is that it has a 240 hertz refresh screen and you can definitely tell the difference as I've turned it down to 144 then back up to 240 and can definitely tell. Gaming looks smooth and no lag in the game I play in the game I play. The only issu I have is doing any upgrades will take patience due to the mother board being flipped. When it's on sale it's a stellar deal for what you get

This is an awesome Thin and Light. Picked it up for $200 off. It has awesome specs, I plan to use this for development and gaming. The screen has great color accuracy and a high refresh rate. I'm having fun with the RGB keyboard, though it was not part of my initial consideration. The keyboard has good travel and feels solid, not quite ThinkPad level, but not awful either, i.e. MacBook. I was considering getting the lower model with the 1660ti, but glad I got this one which also can do some ray-tracing. As an added bonus it supports Thunderbolt, which is great for docking.

Just purchased it a week ago. I think this will be enough time to experience with it. The screen is awesome, color accurate is truly recommended for who want to create contents such as photos, videos. This also bring to users quite good experience with Ultra setting for most of current gaming demand. I has played Dota2, Battlefield V, AC Odyssey so far. They are all handling well.

I'm not a gamer but I wanted performance and that's what I got. My only critique is the battery life. It doesn't seem to last more than a couple hours not plugged in. I may reach out to the manufacturer about this.

I have long looked towards MSI gaming laptops. I was very excited when I bought this. I bought it for 1.400, Bestbuy gave a discount of 500, instead of 1.900, it is excellent! RTX 2060, 512 SSD, 32 RAM, light weight, compact, high performance, thin screen bezels and resolution, easy to use Windows 10, and how pleased I am with the backlight of the RGB keyboard, combined with a beautiful design, it's all very beautiful! I play games on ultra settings and I like it. Additionally, 1T SSD was purchased and it works! It is imperative to purchase a cooling pad, because the laptop really heats up during games. If you need a laptop with a large supply of battery life, then it is better not to buy this laptop and choose something else. It is very productive and requires a lot of energy to work. I definitely recommend this laptop for purchase! Have a nice day, everyone!

I’ve had this for a few weeks now and really like it. It’s has a sleek design and doesn’t look gaudy like some gaming laptops. The mousepad feels smooth like glass and the screen has a non glossy matte finish so no glare while using. I like the fully customizable keyboard. I can have it all reed or whatever color I choose then qhickly change it into whatever preset I want for any game or customize it how ever I want. So far it has handled anything I’ve thrown at it with no problem. If there was one thing I could complain about is that while gaming, it quickly gets medium loud when the fans are blasting out heat at full force. And tin does get hot. And I mean hot the underside of the laptop gets to hot to touch. I have it on a lap table so it doesn’t burn me.

I was trying to decide between this, the Asus Zephyrus M, and the new Razer Blade 15 Advance. After going back and forth, I decided to try out the MSI GS65 and I think this trial phase is on its way to being permanent.
I am a long time Mac user and my current laptop is a MacBook Pro 13 2018 and I game on a PS4 and an Xbox One X. Wanted to get back to the PC Master Race and I wanted the flexibility to play at home, in between offices while I'm on the road as well as have a great dedicated PC that will run my Windows applications for work. I've been using Parallels for years, while it does work... it's just not the same.
Out of the box, the GS65 has decent build quality with its aluminum casing compared to most PC laptops you see at Best Buy but this is nowhere near the level of quality of a Mac and even a Razer. The GS65 doesn't feel as solid and I would have expected a little more after shelling out $2000 for this thing. I really appreciate the engineering of the Mac and Razer on how they were able to build something so thin, yet extremely solid. The build of the MSI screen was disappointingly flimsy and I feel that I could one day break this thing if I opened the screen the wrong way, especially with one hand.
Performance however is where this laptop really shines. I have thrown every game I had at High to Ultra settings and it handles them with ease. Crysis 3 (yeah it's a 2013 game) was at Ultra and it looked amazing. Overwatch was at Ultra and the frame rates just flew and the same with Apex Legends. The GS65 also handled Shadow of Tombraider like a champ. I played through Tombraider on the Xbox One X and I had to sacrifice frame rates for quality and that just wasn't the experience I wanted for such a visually stunning game. On the GS65, Tombraider was absolutely beautiful and it easily maintained a 60 fps frame rate without issues. Sure the fans were blowing but that is to be expected from a thin and light gaming laptop. Oh did I mention that this thing is only a little over 4lbs?
Other things to note:
- The speakers were loud but base is weak.
- Battery life at Battery Saver or Better Battery setting will get you through 4-6 hours for work applications such as MS Office
- The trackpad is much better than last years, but it's no MacBook or Razer
- This has a generous amount of ports, USB 3.0, HDMI, Audio, Mini Display, Thunderbolt
- Wish it had one more thunderbolt port instead of that mini display port
- NO USB-C Charging
- Inverted motherboard makes upgrading a pain, seriously MSI what were you thinking?
- keyboard is a breath of fresh air coming from the stupid butterfly switches of the Mac.
- 240hz screen is fantastic
Overall I think this is a better buy dollar for dollar if you want to compare similar specs to the Razer, you save about $400-$500. The performance alone on this for the size and weight is a huge selling point for this. My only ask is that they step up the build quality a few more notches on this will be an easy winner.

I have had this laptop for 3 months now and it's fast as hell. I got it during a big sale and I had actually been planning on buying a different laptop with lower specs until a best buy employee showed me this was on sale. It can run any game you want at high settings at over 60 FPS and most are over 100 because the 2060 is a beast. It does get pretty hot like others have said because it's very thin and holds a lot of power but I have it undervolted which helps a lot. I would recommend at least a cooling mat if you don't want to deal with undervolting or opening it up to change the thermal paste. My main issue right now is 512Gb isn't enough on its own so I will be buying a new 1Tb PCIe SSD to add to the current one. The motherboard is also flipped so it is harder to access storage so if you don't at least somewhat know what you're doing around computer parts I recommend getting an external drive to add to it. Overall, killer machine with the ability to be tuned down to take to class or work. The battery life is a problem if you don't mess with some settings but if you have it set to 'Eco' and use less demanding apps (no 3D design or games) it lasts a long time because it has a huge battery capacity for laptops in its class. If you see a large sale on this laptop, I highly recommend picking it up.

I got this one on sale for my sister, so it was a huge steal (Black Friday deal). She wanted a thin laptop for school but also something that can play games well. So far, this laptop has been the perfect solution. I care a lot about both performance and nice designs, and I can say I’m not disappointed with it. She doesn’t play games that are too demanding, so for what she uses it for is perfect! I’ve ran Minecraft (not with Ray Tracing, yet) and Overwatch and they’ve both been great. She does have GTAV installed but hasn’t gotten to play it yet because of school. Only concern would be overheating from running CPU intensive games or software, which is why I bought her a cooling pad for it. Other than that no issues! I like how we can customize the keyboard lighting but the software is a bit difficult to use (I’m so used to iCue by Corsair). I’m also not a huge fan of the MSI software. However, the physical design and feel is great. Although it’s lightweight, it doesn’t feel cheap.
So to sum it up:
Pros:
-Sleek Design
-Nice Quality
-Fast Startup
-Runs Games well
-Incredibly Lightweight and portable
-Ray Tracing
Cons:
-Overheating from CPU intensive activities
-Preinstalled Software can be difficult to use
-Not a lot of storage space (major downside)
-Can be very pricey (highly recommend if it’s on sale)

I chose this laptop over considering others because most of the laptop like helios 300 came with high chance of being a defect (from Amazon). Silent in normal usage. Not too loud when in max fan, at least as far as I know it's not as loud as that helios 300 and think of this msi max fan mode like louder than a microwave by 50%. Get around 4hrs when watching on twitch, around 90mins when gaming in subnautica medium. The temperature is fine when gaming, even though it's kinda hot in where you rest you left hand for was, I suggest getting something to put on that place or buy a separate keyboard. I undervolted this msi to -.150mV because that's the best one so far as I have discovered and there is like 1% to no throttling. The laptop crashed when I undervolted to -.160mV for Overwatch. Temperature usually get around 40C in idle(undervolted) for CPU. Full rtx 2060, no max q here. 240hz display. The condition of the msi I got was very good. Backlight bleed a little bit in bottom right like 2cm length and height. My laptop came with SSD cap at 460gb, not much since anyone would most likely to add 1 or 2 extra TB. So far so good and I would recommend this laptop because of its good quality.

I bought this computer for gaming in my living room and on the go. I've taken it on a few trips and quite glad I did so since it can handle all of my games in high or standard settings. However, the battery life while not plugged in, even when optimized, will barely last two hours. Plugged in it tends to get really warm after a few hours, where you feel it in the keyboard and definitely hear it when the fans kick in. Definitely fits my needs but if you are looking for something quiet, this isn't it.

Phenomenal laptop for what it is capable of. I was surprised to find out that this particular model actually has a 240hz IPS FHD screen - the other models seem to have a 144hz IPS FHD panel.
I was initially weary of the downgrade in GPU memory from the 2060 to the 1070 (6GB vs. 8GB) but then realized that I would rather take the higher clock speed and cloud-based super-sampling (RTX feature) than worry about VRAM. This MAY be an issue for those who are primarily connecting a higher resolution external display (1440p or 4k).
If you are using just this laptop for gaming...you will not be disappointed. It gets loud under load, but it's a gaming laptop. It gets HOT under load, but again... it's a gaming laptop.
This device is sleek enough to bring out and about and not worry that you're using some gaudy gaming laptop with RGB blasting out of all sides. The RGB keyboard can be controlled using shortcuts on the keyboard so it can be disabled in a pinch.
The display is the best part....and having a dGPU makes it even better.
If you can get this on the sale that I got it on, you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend it.
My main desktop consists of a 7820x and 2080 Ti, so I am pretty picky when it comes to running demanding games at the best possible picture quality.

I've had this laptop for quite sometime now and I'd say this is a powerhouse. It does get really hot so some undervolting is required, but that could only do so much. It is understandable as this laptop is very thin.
Just a word of advice, please get a laptop sleeve/case if you plan to travel with it as the chassis can crumble like a paper. Also the warranty does come with a one-time accidental warranty if you register it on the official msi website within 30 days of purchase.
For the price that it is, I'd say it is worth it. 32GB RAM and a 240hz may be a little overkill, but it's better safe than sorry. The 512GB SSD is a little worrisome especially that it is one of the slower models, so if you plan to upgrade, the motherboard is flipped so it may be a hassle to access RAM or the M.2 slots.

The 240 Hz display really stands out when you start comparing with all other laptops out there. Performance wise its a beast, can load & run any game that's out there. The fans noise is annoying & might make you wonder like is it a new laptop or old one, but as far as I know, that's the normal noise the fans produce in any laptops with GTX graphic card.

Great performance and 32GB of RAM for lowest price I found for a machine of this capability. Seems very solid and well-built. Plus there doesn't seem to be much bloatware on the factory Windows 10 install. The only thing not ideal is the speakers are tinny but maybe that's typical for a thin laptop like this. Anyway I'm very happy with this purchase.
