I ran into this issue with my older bulbs responding to Adaptive Lighting settings, and my newed Matter bulbs would not. After researching it with Apple they stat that they have yet to enable Adaptive Lighting to work with the newer bulbs.

This bulb “should” be able to do that, but it’s been my experience that it won’t. I’m not entirely sure if it’s Apple or Nanoleaf, but the bulbs won’t connect and don’t communicate well within HomeKit anymore.

There is no "New matter version", they simply did a firmware update so that all Nanoleaf bulbs are matter enabled.
