No, Nest Hub is not required. You can just install the Nest app on your mobile phone or tablet. Then you can set up your Nest products, check their status, manage the settings and get notifications. You can learn more about the Nest app here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9294007
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The nest hub is not required for the doorbell. The doorbell hooks into your existing analog bell system. I used the nest hub as a second doorbell chime in my 2 family house since there was none on the second floor. I had cameras and doorbell before I purchased the hub. They all work with the nest app.
