I have a Google home mini (1st Gen) in my living room and I bought the Google home nest to put in a bedroom. Turns out I like the nest way better so I am going to buy another nest to replace the home mini in the living room.

Yes, if you want better sound quality. If you use this to play music it is worth it. Also, this version has an extra microphone to help hear commands.

one good idea is to buy the new NEST Mini for the sound quality, and then buy a USB Battery base for your old HOME Mini. (Dozens can be found online). then you have a fully portable speaker for outside on the deck, with 12-18 hours of play time. Only old HOME Mini can have USB power, while NEST mini is stuck needing 120VAC power.

Yes, it can allow you to add one to another room. Biggest part is it has play/pause and volume lights on top to easily find them.

No the only benefit is the ability to hang it up, air gestures to show you the volume buttons, more voice sensitivity and it may or may not be a little louder but that's at your discrepancy.
