“Can I connect a Gig/E switch (8pt) to the LAN port on the router? I realize the points no longer have any ethernet ports (disappointing) but I need several wired connections where the cable modem and Nest Wifi Router would be located.”

• Yes. You should be able to do with without issue. Just make sure you connect your router to your modem first. Set that up, before you connect your switch. Doing this you want to make sure your modem assigns that router an IP address before you hook everything else up to assign them theirs.
