You have to name the "extended network" something, but is automatically keeps the name you already have and adds to it. When you get on it for the first time with your phone or other equipment, you sign in to the new network once and save it. Then it automatically recognizes it in the future.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use the same "main" configuration or it will automatically add "_2GEXT or _5GEXT" to your SSID.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We had to set each device (4 Iphones, 2 ipads, 4 laptops) to recognize it and log in, but since it was just an extension of our primary router, it was quick and easy
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you will have to join it to each network as you travel. It will not automatically join an open network. However, you do not have to use the wireless repeat function and can use it to hard wire a non-wireless device. That will get past having to add and use additional SSIDs. However, if you're trying to boost the strength of wireless for another wireless device, you will have to use a different SSID to connect to this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The way it worked for me was, I used a computer across form the one that I had plugged into my modem. I found my wireless network right away. I connected to it and all the extender did was add extended to the name. The password is exactly the same. super seamless. now if only Sony would iron out the bugs in their network things would be great. Super simple just follow the included instructions and you cannot go wrong.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you have to select between the old and new ssid. However this one seems so powerful that it extends into the original zone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Extender sets up new network name in simple terms. You may sill be able to connect to primary router with lesser signal so you must choose.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You do not need a new network. It seamlessly extends existing network
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ok here's an idea and something that l had to do. I called the Netgear support line and get help setting up my extender (different model though). After 45mins on the phone with them my issue was resolved. What happened was there were IP addresses that had hacked into my network and messed up my system which kept me from adding the exteneder. The tech support team (after my authorization) they went into my home network, installed some software that removed and blocked the outsiders, and then we were able to setup the extender! So there's a thought you can try! They really know their stuff!! Good luck friend!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, it will find your existing network
