You have to go through a setup process & sync it to your main router. And don't forget to name it's network the exact same name as your main unit.

First connect extender on outlet close where still strong signal… Second connect extender to your active router using WPS button… very simple!

Theres easy to follow instructions with it. But it is just plug in by a weak zone and It dose require syncing but nothing more than holding the power button to do so there's no software or apps needed. After it's synced tho you will notice two new wifi signals pop up depending on your wifi name it will be suffixed with ext or extention make sure you connect to those to benefit from the extender.
