“can this record to a NAS device on the same local network as the camera? My internet connectivity is not 24x7 , so I would not be interested in cloud use. Is there a PDF manual for the software? I could figure it out from there. Thanks.”

The Arlo doesn't have the ability to record to external storage but they just announced an Arlo Pro that has this feature along with rechargeable battery, siren and ability to communicate through the camera.
