• No, Verizon FiOS uses fiber optics as the source for data and internet transfer. Cable is not the same as fiber optics but cable is able to use digital data due to a cable company transferring their feed in digital mode.

• I'm not sure you got your answer seeing that 2 responses said no and 2 said yes. I was told by a BestBuy rep that this modem/router can be used with Fios.

• Your cable provider will give you a list of modems/routers compatible with their service. The one I bought was for Time Warner.
