“Can I purchase a modem and pay provider for internet ONLY?(One that is not aligned with Xfinity, Fios, etc....) Allowing me ethernet cable & wifi internet access only? I know it's probably a stupid question, but...any help/advice would be appreciated. TY”

The only thing I'm paying for is internet, there are contracts with lower rates and those without are higher monthly rates. I got this router and now I don't have to pay the monthly rental fees, so it's pretty nice.
