• I save hundreds a month Buy using this modem and Apple TV to stream direct tv now and don't even notice I cut the cables

• It doesn't effect DIRECTV, but it will stop your internet from working. You'll have to call your internet provider to give them your new numbers. They program it over the phone. It takes about 5 minutes.

• As soon as I attached the coax cable, my DirecTV ran through the preliminary set-up as it did when I first got service. No issues whatsoever.
