It comes with an app that allows you to throttle the data on your network or you can switch it off if kids are on it more than you like. All nighthawk modem/routers have the same app. Also you can set up thru Xfinity app so no more foreign service calls that are a pain to talk to and no. Ore waiting to hook up the hardware you bought rather than be robbed by internet ppl. Just make sure that it is a product that you Internet provider will allow you to use.
