• As far as optimum goes, you cannot have gig speed and on your own equipment. Anything less than gig speed you can buy your own equipment. However, if you have the Altice one cable boxes you have to use the Altice one modem and router. The modem and router for Altice one give direction to the minis and without it well they just won’t work.
