I currently use a Samsung Bluray player to stream all of my media from my PC and internet. Before the nighthawk everything buffered and loaded endlessly. We are currently sporting AT&T U-Verse, so you wouldn't think we would have a problem. After setting up my nighthawk and using QoS, I connected the same Samsung Bluray player, and tried to stream a 31GB media file from my computer... and guess what... not a single buffer or hiccup. I switched to Netflix and Amazon... again no buffering and no extensive loading. The router has made a tremendous improvement on all of my non-AC devices. I would go for any N device with this router, but having AC is a world of a difference. You would be happy with either N or AC capable media devices with this router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This router is compatible with 802.11n so it should have no problem connecting to the roku player. I have an original apple tv hooked up and it works fine. I have not found a wifi device that will not connect to it. Have tried at least 20 devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.WirelessNewbie, I have the Roku3 and the Netgear R7000. I use my Roku in an ethernet wired configuration but the Roku 3 will also work with this router as it is compatible with the previous wireless standards. I use the wired connection to ensure that I have the fastest possible connection to the Roku3. The wireless connection is slower because it is not hardwired. Jayde55
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the router works fine with the Roku 3. this router is dual band so it has 802.11g/b/a/n on 2.4ghz and also supports 802.11 n/ac 5.0ghz you could wait to see if they come out with anything that's AC for faster Direct streaming but for what things are this would be more than enough. so at this point its your preference on which device you want to pick. this router supports any wireless device out on the market today.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely. It will connect via the 5ghz n as well. No stutter, no hesitation whatsoever. Great combination. (I obviously have one) I don't have a recommendation for a BluRay.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This will work with b, g, n, and AC devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I am using this router with a Roku3. I am seeing better stability vs my old, slower router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both the 2.4 and 5Ghz bands on this router support backwards compatibility with 802.11b/g/n. The Roku and any wireless streaming devices you use in the home will work great with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the Roku2 and they work fine with this router
