If you’re having dropped connections with a dual band router the fault could be one of the following - 1. Poor signal strength or out of range - reposition devices. 2. Too much overcrowding on the wireless channel - select different channels. 3. Different names for the ssid on your 2.4 and 5 GHz bands - change ssid names to same name. 4. Out of date firmware - update to latest firmware. 5. Bad hardware - highly unlikely unless the device was damaged. Make sure you save settings after changes and reboot the router. There is a process and procedure for #2 above to select least crowded wireless channels that is beyond the scope of this answer. Check on the internet for your particular pc - Windows or Mac.
