• Yes it is backward compatible with WiFi 5 (every AX / WiFi 6 router is).

• Yes works with spectrum. of course because spectrum has their own issues on RARE occasion you have to reboot. but otherwise great product. Has improved our connectivity 100 percent!

• On the paper, it is backwards compatible with WiFi 5, however, in my case, multiple WiFi 5 and WiFi4 devices had unstable connection requiring frequent rebooting of the router.

• This is backwards compatible with WiFi 5. As for if it will work with Spectrum...yes but that depends on the modem. Most people recommend purchasing your own modem as they are typically a higher quality and are much cheaper in the long run vs a rental from the carrier. If you want to use your Spectrum router, visit Netgear's website to see a list of know modems that don't work with this router.
