• Possibly, It depends on how the ONT is configured. If your ONT is set up with the Internet via Ethernet and TV via Coax,like mine is then yes you can eliminate the need for FIOS router. There may also be some addition setup needed for the MoCa network for the TV/DVR as well.

• No. You have to connect it to your frontier router. You can go into your frontier router setting and shut off the WiFi on the frontier router and just use Orbi. I personally left both on but have everything connected to Orbi. The router is great and worth it by the way.
