Since you have no answers I will offer this. I have had a 960 satellite sitting on my back porch for a couple of years in temperatures ranging from 5F to 105F and equally wide ranges of humidity. In that time it has been reliably linked to another satellite in a family members house on the next street over. So, no promises, but unless you have a galvanized steel shed in the Texas heat, or exposure to rain, I suspect the 970 would operate properly in your shed. Good luck.
