Does this product have a built in surge protector? null

I don't think so. When researching wifi extenders, many posts warned not to plug these into surge protectors because it would slow down performance.

No, and supposedly you can't put it behind a surge protector. The surge protector supposedly prevents the network signal from getting through cleanly. If you get the model with the extra outlet, you could plug a surge protector into it for other devices, but this device itself will remain vulnerable.
