What cord, this is a router to help your devices access the internet, if your talking about a smart phone then you will use the Wi-Fi to communicate

It has one USB port, but it is for adding a storage device (hard drive or flash drive) for network storage or file sharing. It will charge your phone, but it will not recognize it as an attached storage device or allow access to the net. The router does work with phones that have WiFi capability.

No it will not work with a cord from your phone, but you can connect wirelessly from your phone.

The phone cord will not plug into this router. You will need a DSL or Cable model that uses an ethernet cord.
