It depends on where you are located. I switched from Frontier to Blue Ridge because the speed in my area from Frontier was under 1MB. You need to do a speed test with Frontier Internet connection before you purchase any wifi router.

Yes. You can put the router/ model in BRIDGE mode. I run 3 routers in my house due to size and coverage. I use PfSense for the main router

Just got a new router from frontier. All i had to do was ask. If you have frontier you might try the same. I had one of their old routers that had a problem connecting with our smart tv.

Router provides its own WiFi and yes it can be used with any network installed in the building or house or apartment, to setup the router it requires a LAN connection and in a way amplifies the internet on your node/port.
