This is a wireless router built for medium to large homes, so it can replace your current router, and give you possibly better coverage. but if you have an extra large home, or additional obstructions in your home that impede wifi reception, you might want to look at getting a type of "mesh" network, that has several wifi devices that work together to supply reliable coverage in more areas at extended ranges

Some are creating and EXT_WIFI network that your device will switch to whenever the signal gets low or some with the same SSID as your primary network but with different internal MAC addressing. Both of them are known to work just fine. The best solution though is to use a router with mesh technology. That is the best of the best so far.
