I believe it must be connected to the internet some how. You can use it for wireless connections only if you want.

You need Internet service from someone like Comcast or Verizion to start with. From there, you could use thier modem/router. From there, it depends on the devices in your house, if they have wireless, you should be able to connect to the router and get on the internet. If not, you would have to be hardwired with an ethernet cable to the router.

Yes. An Internet account and a cable/DSL modem is necessary to use the router.

yes you need internet service for it to work plus you need to hook to a modem dsl modem or cable modem which ever provider you have
