Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As far as I can tell, you must connect the router via an ethernet cable from your modem into the router and after that you can use the router wirelessly OR via the four ethernet ports in the back. If your PC doesn't have wi-fi, you can get an extra long ethernet cable to connect it directly to the router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Why not move the modem closer
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In short buy a long Ethernet cable. Connect your modem to your router, get your wifi working. As long as your ISP is good enough this router will be strong enough to give u the wifi speed ur looking for. If you want to use an Ethernet cable you will need a long enough cable regardless. You will be able to connect this router both devices using the Ethernet ports on the back. IMO id connect directly through wifi. Saves you a mess of cords and saves you money on cords. I'm running my Ps4 on this routers wifi and I couldent be more happy. To answer the question. Your modem needs to be connected to the router period.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, the router does have to be directly wired to the modem.
