It will as long as where you are located with the boat already recieves somewhat decent wifi signal. You can check by using a speed test app or website right from your phone. Pretty much as long as you have at least one wifi bar where the extender will be plugged in at, it will then grab that wifi signal and boost it to full strength in about a 30 yard circle.

The live across the street and two doors down and yes it made a big difference using this as opposed to not having anything. I think it would depend on how far away you are from the Internet you are wanting to connect to.
