• Will increase it but marginally unless you're above or below the router, if so it will perform better, must have the id and password

• For initial setup, you have to put the extender next to the router and have access to username and password of the access point. If you can do that then it should work.

• Not unless they allow you to get it onto their network. You essentially need admin privileges for the router you are connecting to to set it up.
