I believe this could work, depending on how old your router is and your internet connection. If you have thick plaster walls and brick, then this should work. I had a the same issue and placed the router as central to the house in that outside room (on an inside wall) and put the range extender on the opposite side of the house on an inside wall and my range shows full anywhere I go in the house.
