Absolutely yes. I have one. when i play it back on my pc, i have a shot out the back. I drive a 97 Lincoln Mark VIII and it has plenty of detail. Also gets enough of the side window w/o having to adjust it so i can capture Law enforcement. The picture is high resolution enough to zoom in and see more than enough detail. I actually recommend that addon cam....for $99 its worth it

Since your top is down and the camera is mounted on the windshield there will be no obstruction with a top down. The only problem in playback is there is going to be a lot of WIND NOISE since your top is down!
