I purchased the Nextbase 422GW (GPS & Wifi) dash cam and decided to try the Rear Racing Camera Attachment since i like the front facing camera so much. the Rear facing camera is a super sleek and easy way to get a front and back, 2 channel view of your car's surroundings. this brilliant little attachment clicks into the side of the main camera and uses the main camera's CPU to duel film the rear view of the car while in sync with the front. No extra wires, no expensive additional camera or power source for the rear. just plug and play with superb image quality the main camera feeds all the telemetry, GPS, etc into the front facing camera's clips, while the rear does its thing. i guess the most brilliant part is the way the telescopic lens shoots out the back window, just like your rear view mirror would function. This POV hack is amazing. OH, and my maybe most fav part is that the Telescopic lens articulates, so you can point the lens so you get the perfect angle out the window, when the main camera is positioned anywhere on the windshield.

Used for less than a month and started having issues with the screen and the device constantly freezing. Contacted NextBase and was ultimately told to contact BestBuy who just gave me the run around. Now I have an expensive paperweight.

I have been using a NextBase dash cam for a few weeks now. I like the main unit just fine, and this add on does work well. However, I have the windshield mount for the main dash cam installed on 2 different vehicles, If you plan on mounting the dash cam directly to the windshield with these mounts, these little add on cameras are hard to make use of because the best placement for the dash cam is right behind the review mirror where the view for these add on cams is usually blocked. And they don't pivot in any direction. It works well, but I had no use for it because of the placement of the main dash cam was always near the review mirror where the view for this cam was blocked. So i returned it.

Tested this out on a road trip and it works great. It does a picture-in-picture on the screen of the dash cam, and the actual video it records. The wide angle is good for detecting what's outside of the rear windows of your car.

After scouring many sources on dashcam reviews to add to my car for ridesharing, I settiled on the 622GW and this cabin view camera add on. PLEASE NOTE, there are MULTIPLE different rear camera add ons! THIS one is for the cabin area, a different one is for a rear vew through your back window. Order correctly! As far as fit and finish of this, it's ease of use with the 622GW, this is a great camera with excellent coverage of the cabin. However, there are two problems. First, cabin camera plugs into an HDMI port on the right side of the camera, you have no choice of where it is and you can't angle or point this camera separately from the main camera in any way. You're stuck with it. This limits either your mounting positions and/or your exterior view. Since I have a Tesla with a bevy of external cameras, I compromise the front camera view a bit to get a better camera view. So, if you are a daytime only rideshare driver, this is a great solution with a very high quality solution. If you are a nighttime driver though you are in trouble. While Nextbase claims they have "nightvision" on their product, I believe they're only referring to the sensitivity of the main camera (i.e., not this addon rear facing camera). This camera is using existing light, isn't using IR lighting or any other means of dealing with a dark nighttime cabin. This results in a view that is completely black most of the time. If there are dome lights turned on or some powerful street lighting you can see more, but it's still poor. I bought this combo based on reviews and the nightvision claim so I was very disappointed in this as I MAINLY drive at night. This is a significant amount to spend on a solution that competitors do without an issue and at a lower price point. So, if you can deal with these limitations there's no doubt the quality coming out of this camera solution is superb. However, these are some pretty significant limitations you need to strongly consider before buying.

Easy to set up, I thought about the rear camera but this was just fine, you can still see cars behind you plus everything going on in the cabin.

Good quality camera. More cons than pros for the retail price $100. 1. It causes main camera to shut off and restart randomly. 2. Video is saved seperated rather than picture in picture as displayed on camera. 3. No night vision so only works well during the day.

Good interior video easy to attach and go back and forth to the rear window camera

This is a great add-on unit to capture cabin and a little bit of the side window views. Simply plug in the main unit and you are done. There are no true 360 degree dash cams on the market right now (except some kickstarter products) and the Nextbase main unit and this add-on can help you record side and back window views. Not a true 360 degree coverage but good enough. There is a telephoto version that will capture farther view through back window but less side views.

During the day with plenty of light, its good. During the night, with low light, its terrible. No IR sensor which makes a huge difference. As stated, during the day, it works and you have a great view. But outside of that, the night is useless. Would recommend an interior camera that has an IR. If you only use it for the day, it's great for the price. During the night, don't waste your money.

I bought this very cool click on accessory for added security but quickly noticed there is a really cool social aspect to it. I record my kids singing in the background which very fun to watch. I am also very impressed with the clarity of the picture quality when both cameras are in use. definitely something worth considering when purchases a nextbase Dash Cam @ Best Buy.

The picture is very clear, the color is just perfect

Works well with the Nextbase dash cam. The only downside is that the main nextbase dash cam can only use one rear facing camera. This camera is best for cabin use. I can see out the back window with this, but the rear window mounted camera is better for that. It's a shame that the main dash cam won't work with both the interior and the rear window mounted camera. This camera is sturdy. It has survived falling off my windshield multiple times without breaking.

Might not be the best rear view camera out there, but so easy to use. Just plug it into the main camera, and you're done. I would recommend the telephoto camera, and not the cabin view.

This is a great add on to my 622! Picture is clear and captures great moments inside my vehicle.

Added this to my wifes Nextbase 322. Provides very clear video of the interior of the car. Great when leaving you car for repair or valet.

A great camera for the money. A lot of features and very easy to install.
