Rexing - BC500 In-Car Baby Cam with Monitor – HD 1080p & Infrared Night Vision - Black

I got this Rexing BC500 in car baby monitor because I drives with my toddler, and it has greatly reduced my stress while driving. I used to rely on a mirror, which always felt a bit precarious since I had to adjust my angle or glance back longer or the mirror will move off angle due to sharp turns. This setup feels far more natural. The camera straps onto the headrest and the monitor mounts easily on the dash using a holder. The included cable is long enough to route neatly through my car without any awkward stretching. Once wired(check out on how to wire this unit in the picture), there is a button on the 12V charger, press to turn power ON. No pairing or convoluted setup required as it just works. The video quality is good during the day and the night vision also works well in darker conditions. I can clearly see my child without turning around even on dim roads. It has a wide angle lens which helps cover more of the backseat. There are a couple of things I would like to see as an improvements 1) A USB C power option would be nice 2) A combining of something like Rexing’s CPDuo style system could reduce multiple screens on dashboard. Still, these feel like small trade offs. To conclude, It gives a steady and reliable view of my baby in the rear seat while I keep my focus where it belongs while driving.

Simple and straight forward device. My child’s reached the age where she would likely break something like this but def could see this for a 3 and under. Can tighten fairly well to the back of any headrest and sticks out about an inch. Camera could use a little more swivel to allow for some different angles but the images on the store page are extactly wha you get. Only plugs into the cig lighter port/vehicle accessory socket so if you have a dash camera like me, you’ll need something to split or hopefully your vehicle has more than one. Picture is decent quality for the price. No recording features.

This is a basic camera system that is very easy to set up and can either come on when the power is applied to the power port when you start your car or with the switch on the power adapter. I also liked that there is very minimal wiring and is very easy to install. You plug the power adapter into your vehicle and into the cable on the screen and there is a wire that goes from a cable on the screen to a cable on the camera. The connecting cable from the screen to the camera is 17 feet long so this system can be used in a car, SUV or van. It also is detachable at both ends so it is easy to route under and around seats when installing. One thing to note is the image displayed on the screen is a mirror image of what the camera is pointed at. This is a huge improvement over the mirrors they sell to keep an eye on your children in the back seat and allows you to view any seat or area of your vehicle. It would also work great for watching animals in the back of an car, SUV or van.
