“Can you lock onto the recorder with you computer / PC through your WiFi and let you view recordings and use settings. Also do you need an app for the PC like for an android ?”

To my knowledge you cannot use your computer. They don't tell you that you should have a monitor set up with the DVR/NVR. I was lead to believe you can use your phone for everything. Be careful.

This will enable you to locally access your system from a TV/monitor using the included HDMI cable. Internet in only required for remote viewing. To access your Wi-Fi NVR system from a Smart Device, PC or Mac, you will need to hardwire your unit to your router (network access point) using the included Ethernet cable. There is CMS software on your product support page at support.nightowlsp.com for viewing on a computer and our free mobile app (Night Owl Protect) for viewing on a phone or tablet.
