Hello, wired: Each individual camera is physically wired (BNC wire/connections) from location you setup DVR player all the way to location you setup each camera around your house, either indoor or outdoor. Wireless: Just as its called, "wireless" there are no wires from DVR to your camera EXCEPT for the power cable that connects to each individual camera. The power cable does not need to be connected at the same location DVR is at, but will need to be connected within (I think) the power cable length is 10feet.

With our wireless systems, the cameras wirelessly communicate with the NVR and only need to be plugged into an outlet using the camera power adapter.
