The ethernet cable runs from your Dvr box to your internet router only if you want to be able to access the video online. It is secure and I like having the video feed accessible from my smartphone no matter where I am. Each camera has a cable that runs back to the dvr box and it is much easier to do than it sounds. This will provide your video feed and power. There is a system available that is "wireless", but that simply means you don't have a cord running back to the dvr box. However, you still have to find an outlet to plug each of these cameras into and I found it much easier to just conceal the cable that runs from the base.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Only the DVR needs to be connected to an outlet. The power is distributed to the cameras via it's cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The dvr itself Needs to be connected to a power outlet to get power. The cameras with two cables each Connect to the dvr to recieve a feed and the other cable to a box with 4 connections that connects to an outlet to recieve power. The ethernet cable does not give power but ir does need to be connected to whatever internet source you have to Make the system work. Hope that was helpful.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Night Owl DVR uses BNC cables to connect the cameras. The cables will allow you to provide the cameras with power and transmit the video feed. You only require an ethernet cable to connect the Night Owl system to the internet so you may view it remotely. Thank you so much for choosing Night Owl.
