Yes. I took them to the ballet and was able to see the details on the costumes of the dancers from the back row. They weigh only about 7 ounces without the case. I carried them in a small crossbody bag.

I would suggest going to the store and looking at different binoculars with different magnifications. You want to view something as far away as you believe you will be sitting at the concert. When you find the right magnification, then start searching for the best binoculars with that magnification.
