• It's great for portraits, and for landscape shots. If you are planning to shoot wildlife, it will work, but it doesn't give you the versatility that a zoom lens would.

• This lens is an excellent choice, especially for portraits of people. Since it has a 35mm focal length, you will be closer to your subject.
