“Looking for a lens to capture indoor basketball pics...most gyms have horrible lighting. Has anyone used this for fast paced indoor sports with poor lighting and what was the output like? Any recommendations for such a needed lens?”

Should work just fine. The AF-S and VR will help a lot and you can stop it down to 2.8 if you need to—though I'd keep it up above f/4 and use ISO to compensate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have used this lens to capture night drifting. It can be a bit blurry at times. It's a cool effect especially with all the underglow on the cars. If you're going for tack sharpness I would put your camera in spray and pray mode to get more chances to get the shot you want.
