There is definitely an advantage of the built-in wifi, the way the adapter plugs in is kind of horrendous, in the fact that it sticks out far, and causes the USB flap to stay open. I'd probably use my adapter more if it was better designed and the flap didn't have to stay open. However, I'm not sure it'd be worth how much ever difference in price for the next model up that includes built-in wifi($300?) .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The D3300 does not have built-in Wi-fi and requires the WU-1a Wireless adapter. The WU-1a adapter has a range of approximately 10–15 m/33–49 ft. The Wi-fi range in cameras with built-in WifFi will vary depending on the camera model. To determine which has the advantage, compare the technical specifications of the WU-1a to the Wi-fi specs of the other camera that you are considering.
