Hello! My switch is also doing the same thing at the moment, the console itself was getting hot and my switch starting blowing out air. The console is cooling down now, so yes, it is to prevent it from overheating. Have a good day! :)

I would assume that the fan is blowing the air out of the system through a port or finding a seam somewhere. As long as it doesn’t overheat and isn’t excessively loud, just ignore the problem. Be happy that the air keeps the dust from inside the unit.

The Nintendo Switch is 100% powered by the tablet itself. The Switch Dock is nothing more than a USB type-C hub. So all of the Switch’s processing power runs internally. That’s why there are vents on the top.

Sounds like it’s over inflated. You might try the pressure relief valve on the bottom of the unit. Or, just go easy on that air pump jab.
