• Once you put the new SIM in the phone, it will work just fine. AT&T does not need to be contacted, but you can if you would prefer.

• I don't have AT&T but I would emagine you can just change sim cards, This is what I did from a Boost Mobile service to Mint Mobile and used my same number. I love this phone.
