You need q comparable player like mxplayer pro with the neon codec available in the playstore

If you plan to use Kodi, you will have to enable passthrough under the sound settings in Kodi and enable all of the passthrough format options.

On a side note Amazon Video is built into the OS and can not be replaced without rooting the box. To date I have not heard anything positive on rooting a Shield. A fly mouse with a keyboard would be a plus. Happy streaming
